Chit Chat Newcastle '18
Final round and the battle of the bros'. The weekend will be all about McLaughlin V van Gisbergen.
McLaughlin has first blood, topping Friday practice. But no points are available on Fridays... How will Whincup, Coulthard, Lowndes and others spoil and interrupt the title fight this weekend? How will other drivers finish their stints with their current teams. Craig Lowndes' final full-time round, plenty of emotion about that, hopefully Lowndes can score a podium for a grand farewell.

Re: Chit Chat Newcastle '18
Seems that the stewards are investigating a breach of the rules for SVG's last refeulling stop.It is stated that the refeulling rig was removed BEFORE the car hit the ground. And to quote the artcle "a penalty has been recommended which Red Bull refuse to accept, resulting in the matter being referred to the stewards".
Hubby reckons nothing will happen as Red Bull (to his eyes) seem to be a protected species. If it ends up being either a time penalty or a grid place penalty;it might result in everyone being bumped up.If not...it appears to be a case of stacking the deck against a team who has a foreign principal in Roger Penske.Time will tell.

van Gisbergen received a 25 second time penalty, dropping him back to 5th.
Massive decision by the stewards, but hard to argue against it. The vision shows the fuel still connected when the car was dropped. Had they jacked the car back up, then dropped him again, there would have been no penalty. McLaughlin's championship to lose...
